Phoenix police said they have arrested three more suspects in a string of robberies that included the home of a former WWE wrestling champion, who captured one of the suspects as he fled his house.
The three arrests on Wednesday came as a result of Bryan Danielson, who wrestles under the name Daniel Bryan, chasing and taking down 22-year-old Cesar Sosa as Sosa and another suspect tried to run form Danielson's house on July 24, Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said.
Because of Sosa's capture, investigators were led to a group of people identified in burglaries in the Arcadia area and north Phoenix neighborhoods, Thompson said.
Officers found a silver 2003 Mercedes-Benz four-door sedan believed used in the burglary of Danielson's home and began to watch it.
Officers were keeping tabs on the car as the driver, Alexandra Olvera, and two men, identified as Edward Alexander Johnson and Gilberto Gil Gastelum, burglarized another home, Thompson said.
While waiting for an arrest team, the surveillance officers watched the trio commit a second burglary, where they were arrested, Thompson said. A handgun and stun gun were found in their vehicle.
The suspects were linked to at least two burglaries in the last several days, most involving jewelry, Thompson said.
Olvera was identified as the driver in the July 24 burglary, as well, Thompson said.
Olvera, 30, was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on three counts of burglary and one count of participating in a criminal syndicate.
Johnson, 20, was booked on two counts of burglary, one count of participating in a criminal syndicate and two counts of misconduct involving weapons.
Gastelum, 21, was booked on two counts of burglary and one count of participating in a criminal syndicate.
