SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Springfield police have arrested an armed robbery suspect exclusively shown by CBS 3 during our Springfield's Most Wanted Series last week.

The suspect, wanted in several armed robberies, was caught during another robbery attempt Wednesday.

CBS 3 first told you about him last week during a special segment of Springfield's Most Wanted after he was accused of robbing several stores over the course of just days.

Police tell CBS 3 the man shown on surveillance images from the Food Bag convenience store on Dickinson street is 31-year-old Jose Perez.

Police were led to Perez after an armed robbery attempt just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at a Citgo station on Wilbraham Road.

Witnesses say a woman walked into the store, showed a black gun and demanded money.

Officers then traced the car back to a Somerset Street address.

There they found Perez as well as armed robbery suspects Janet Abely and Heather Messier.
