Amherst Fire Department celebrates new truck

Posted: Updated:

The Amherst Fire Department welcomed a new member of its fleet late Saturday morning as department chaplain Bruce Arbour blessed a new pumper truck during a short ceremony.

The 2014 E-Max series truck was built by the E-One Company of Ocala, FL, replacing a 1996 department pumper truck.

The new vehicle seats six and is equipped with the latest safety features, including an anti-rollover system and a rear-view camera.

Just minutes after the ceremony ended, the brand new Engine 1 truck was taken on its first fire call.
