The infamous butt injection trial ends in Mississippi but the saga continues in neighboring Alabama.
The jury found Tracy Lynn Garner guilty of depraved heart murder Friday. Sentencing is scheduled Tuesday for the death of Karima Gordon.
Jurors found that Garner posed as a licensed nurse and injected a non-medical grade silicone into Gordon's buttocks at her Jackson home in 2012.
The Atlanta woman died from the illegal medical procedure after traveling back to Georgia.
Meanwhile Attorney General Jim Hood said Garner faces similar charges in the death of a Selma, Alabama resident. No trial date has been set.
"We felt confident that the evidence would lead to a conviction," said Hood after the verdict was reached.
Gordon's family said they waited two and a half years for justice.
"My family and I are very saddened by what happened and we came all the way here because we wanted to be here for our sister and for her son that she left behind," said Gordon's sister Cyndee Ible Frontal.
Garner was found guilty of depraved heart murder and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.
