Emergency crews responded to Westover Air Reserve Base after an in-flight emergency was reported aboard an incoming C-5 cargo plane.

The emergency happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Officials from the base told CBS 3 the aircraft was flying in locally when the pilot reported an emergency.

The plane was able to land safely at the base without incident.

Officials said it appeared the emergency was minor, but the plane will undergo a full inspection.

"They have to follow all the check lists as they get the air plane safely. Then the fire department in many cases will come out and check to make sure the airplane is intact," said Master Sgt. Andrew Biscoe.

No injuries were reported on board the aircraft.
