WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

ZZ Top has canceled its show at the Big E because of an injury its bassist sustained to his hip while aboard the band's tour bus last month.

The band was scheduled to play at the fair Sept. 26, but recent developments into the severity of Dusty Hill's injury forced the band to cancel, according to Big E Communications Manager Catherine Pappas.

Initially, Hill's injury caused the band to cancel tour dates through Sept. 13, at which time the Big E date was not affected.

Hill, 65, required medical attention when he fell inside the tour bus prior to a concert in August.

People who purchased tickets to the Big E concert will be refunded.
