NORTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

Authorities discovered a body in a pond near the entrance of Look Park on Friday afternoon.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed on Monday that the body is that of 34-year-old Reed Bennett, of Easthampton, according to Mary Carey, communications director for the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.

Bennett was reported missing on Nov. 17.

The cause of death has not yet been determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Members of the Northampton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts Environmental Police were involved in a multi-day search for Bennett around the Look Park area when they located the body, Carey said.

Bennett's disappearance remains under investigation by the Northampton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit working with the Northwestern District Attorney's office.

Authorities say they do not believe there is any reason for concern regarding public safety as a result of the discovery.
