The FBI announced on Tuesday that it is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person who kidnapped a man at gunpoint in Rhode Island and drove down the Mass Pike towards the New York border with him.

The victim was kidnapped at gunpoint from his driveway in Barrington, RI by an unknown masked man at about 7:30 a.m. on June 30.

The two drove for almost three hours to the Massachusetts, New York border on Interstate 90. The suspect told the victim to pull over on the Mass Pike just before the Lee rest area and fled into the woods.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, with close-cropped, dark-colored hair. He was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and a green camouflage bandana over his face and held a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspect speaks English with a slight Spanish accent and he also speaks fluent Spanish.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's assistance in identifying an individual responsible for the kidnapping.
