Two people were seriously injured in a one-car accident in Amherst on Wednesday.
Mary Carey, a spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, said a vehicle traveling on Potwine Lane went off the road and collided with a tree at about noontime.
Both Amherst and state police responded to the accident. The Volvo sedan involved in the accident sustained heavy front-end damage.
The male driver and female passenger were both transported to Baystate Medical Center.
Amherst police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
Potwine Lane was closed while police investigated the accident.
