85 year old woman struck by car in Palmer dies from her injuries

PALMER, MA (WSHM) -

An 85-year-old woman hit by a car while crossing South Main Street in Palmer Friday night has died from her injuries. 

Sgt. Burns with the Palmer police department tells CBS 3 that just after 5 units responded to the intersection of South Main and Strong streets. 

The woman was rushed to Wing Memorial and later life-flighted to Baystate Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. 

Her identity is not being released at this time as authorities are notifying her family. 

She was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. 

The accident is under investigation by state and Palmer police. 

At this time they do not believe alcohol or speed were factors.
