A tractor-trailer became disabled in one of the travel lanes of Interstate 91 southbound prior to exit 1 near the Longmeadow curve, which caused major traffic delays on Monday afternoon.
State police responded to the disabled truck at about 12:20 p.m.
Trooper Keith Armstrong said that a heavy duty tow truck was on scene at about 12:40 attempting to remove the truck. The truck had been removed from the highway at about 1 p.m.
Traffic was backed up into downtown Springfield while crews attempted to move the truck.
