Chicopee police are searching for a man who they say robbed the Quick Mart at gunpoint on Thursday afternoon. Chicopee police are searching for a man who they say robbed the Quick Mart at gunpoint on Thursday afternoon.

Police are asking residents to avoid the Newbury Street area after they say a man robbed a convenience store at gunpoint on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect, who was described by police as a 5'10" tall man who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a gray face mask, entered the Quick Mart at 447 Springfield St. and showed a gun. He fled on foot down Newbury Street following the robbery, according to Chicopee police.

Police did not say what the suspect got away with.
