Sunday morning factory fire in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) - Holyoke firefighters responded to a factory fire around 10:30 Sunday morning.

Holyoke Fire Capt. Anthony Cerruti told CBS 3 the fire was called in by a person who saw smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Officials believe a tractor trailer in a garage at Meadow Associates, located at 114 North Bridge Street had caused the fire.

Cerruti said the building had no occupants at the time of the fire and currently does not have a damage estimate.

The building will remain closed until a Holyoke building inspector can assess the damage.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Additional fire crews from Chicopee, West Springfield and South Hadley provided mutual aid to the Holyoke firefighters on scene.
