State Police arrest two for narcotics in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - Massachusetts State Police made multiple arrests at a Carew Street residence in Springfield on Friday afternoon.

After investigation and a search warrant in place, police arrested Rafael A. Silva, 49, of Springfield and Amanda Harris, 27, of Ware due to narcotics violations.

Police seized over 22 grams of suspected cocaine product and 304 bags of suspected heroin.

Silva is charged with trafficking in cocaine and possessing to distribute heroin, a Class ‘A' drug.

Harris is being charged with possessing to distribute heroin, a Class ‘A' drug and possession of a cocaine, a Class ‘B' drug.

Both Silva and Harris were brought to the Springfield State Police barracks for booking. Harris placed bail pending arraignment in Springfield District Court.

Silva was transported to Hampshire House of Correction until his arraignment in Springfield District Court on Monday.
