WESTFIELD, MA (WSHM) - After spending the last few weeks at Joint Base Pearl Harbor in Hicknam, Hawaii, nearly 100 104th Fighter Wing personnel returned to Western Massachusetts on Sunday.

The group had participated in a deployment exercise called ‘Sentry Aloha', where over 400 airmen and 60 aircrafts from six states practiced scenarios alongside F-22 Raptors.

“It was fun, we flew with 22s and 18s and 16s.” Dennis Cyr of the 104th Fighter Wing said. “We did a lot of aggressor training and practicing for basically at war.”

10 F-15 Eagles from the 104th Fighter Wing were deployed and in the first two weeks alone, the 104th flew over 300 hours and 138 sorties.

This is the second year that the 104th Fighter Wing has participated in Sentry Aloha. The Hawaii Air National Guard has hosted the multi-week training session for nearly 40 years.
