A water main broke near Springfield City Hall on Tuesday morning, leaving multiple roads closed and flooded.
The pipe was repaired by Wednesday, but City Hall Place remained closed while crews repaved the road. Joyce Mulvaney, communications manager for the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, said the road should be reopened by Wednesday evening.
Crews responded to Pynchon Street, which is located on the south side of the Monarch Tower and Sheraton Hotel in downtown Springfield, shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday
Mulvaney said that the pipe that broke was for One Financial Plaza.
No businesses were without water during the incident.
