Parents meet with AIC officials regarding Curtis Blake Day School closure

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - Parents met with representatives from American International College on Wednesday afternoon searching for ways they can save Curtis Blake Day School.

“The gist of the meeting was simply that there's no hope, there's nothing they can do, this is done as far as they're concerned,” Melissa Sullivan said, who has a son that attends the school.

“They're saying it from the meeting,” Tim Grader, Director of Communications at American International College said. “The Day School is closing and there is no path to keep it open.”

The media was not allowed to sit in on the meeting at Curtis Blake Day School this afternoon.

Concerned parents said many of their questions related to financial standing were not answered during the meeting.

“None of the finances were discussed,” Grader said. “All of those matters were discussed in a board of trustees meeting behind executive committee so there were no minutes taken.”

American International College is working with White Oak School in Westfield to see if students and faculty can continue next year at that location.

“We have too much at stake so we're going to do whatever it takes,” Sullivan said.

CBS 3 Springfield is continuing to cover this story.
