Over a thousand festive participants came together at Brunelle's Marina in South Hadley on Sunday for the 6th annual Leprechaun Plunge.
Each March, the group gets together to raise money for local charities and plunge into the chilly water of the Connecticut River.
The 2014 Leprechaun Plunge raised over $120,000 for six charities.
The 2015 charities were:
· Shriners Hospital For Children, Springfield
· Dana Farber – Jimmy Fund
· USO of Pioneer Valley
· Neighbors Helping Neighbors – South Hadley Food Pantry
· Joe Kareta Scholarship Fund
· South Hadley Youth Groups
Organizers of the event had expectations to surpass the 2014 fundraising total.
