Man arrested after argument with store clerk in Holyoke
HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -
A man was arrested Wednesday night after police say he got into an argument with a clerk at the C-Mart on Northampton Street in Holyoke.
Holyoke Police Lt. Michael McCoy told CBS 3 that 25-year-old Francis Romero of Holyoke was arrested after the man attempted to leave the store without paying for an item and then fought with a store employee.
According to police, Romero was charged with attempted unarmed robbery, disorderly conduct, destruction of property under $250 and assault and battery.
Romero was still on scene when police responded to the call and was not armed with a weapon.
Police said the man had been at the market earlier in the day and the argument originated from Romero being unhappy with an item originally purchased.
