Springfield police called to Eastfield Mall for reported bomb threat

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Springfield police and emergency crews were called to the Eastfield Mall on Boston Road for a reported bomb threat Thursday evening.

Dennis Leger, aid to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant said a call has been placed in for the Arson and Bomb Squad to do a walk around the mall in search for anything suspicious. 

So far nothing has been found. 

Employees from Macy's tell our CBS 3 crew, they were told to get out of the store immediately because there was a bomb threat.

Officials could not confirm the extent of the threat.

Police cleared the scene around 9:30 p.m. after looking through surveillance video. 

They're continuing to investigate.
