SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - Springfield police responded to Melha Street early Sunday morning for reports of gun shots.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told CBS 3 that a shotspotter activation reported multiple shots around 3 a.m.

No one was injured but shell casings were recovered on scene by responding officers.

A home on Melha Street had sustained damage from the gun fire.

A white Nissan Maxima sedan and a tan ‘crossover' were witnessed fleeing the scene, Delaney said.

Neither of those vehicles have been located at this time.
