Deerfield police recovered drugs and paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on Friday night.
According to the Deerfield Police Department Facebook page, an officer was conducting a motor vehicle stop at 11:50 p.m. on Friday night when the officer developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
Heroin was found on their possession. Two individuals were placed under arrest for drug related charges.
Police say they recovered additional bags of heroin while booking the two individuals at the police stations.
Police added the two individuals were coming from an area motel that has been under investigation as of late due to a reported increase in drug activity.
Officers from UMass Amherst, Sunderland and Whately assisted in the arrest.
