SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - Three people were transported to an area hospital after an unknown shooter fired multiple gunshots inside of a lobby at the Hippodrome Nightclub on Sunday morning.

Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney told CBS 3 that officers working detail for a hip-hop concert reported seven gun shots at 1700 Main Street shortly after 1:15 a.m.

Officers found three victims near the front entrance of the lobby.

Police say a single shooter had re-entered the building aided by a second person who distracted staff members.

Delaney said the shooter fired the rounds and fled within a crowd.

All three victims were treated at Baystate Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. If you have any information, please contact the Springfield Police Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355.
