HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) - Holyoke police and fire officials have been working to locate and assist a despondent man who has been reported inside of the former site of Parsons Paper Company in Holyoke.

Holyoke Police Lt. Isaias Cruz told CBS 3, a female family member had called to report the concern around 12:30 p.m. that the man would potentially take his own life.

Police secured the area and used binoculars to try and find the man inside of the building.

Authorities will not enter the mill buildings due to unsafe conditions.

The man is a Holyoke resident believed to be in his late 30's or early 40's. He is not armed with a weapon.

“Apparently he has a cell phone on him,” Cruz said.

No one have been able to contact the man.
