WARE, MA (WSHM) - Ware police investigated an incident where a 9-year-old child was struck by a car on Saturday morning.

Ware police tell CBS 3 the child was riding a bicycle near the corner of North and Pleasant Streets shortly after 9 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Police say the car who hit the child did not flee the scene and is assisting the investigation.

The child was suffering from leg pain. The family declined an ambulance and took the 9-year-old to the hospital on their own for treatment of minor injuries.
