WESTFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
The Westfield State University community is mourning the loss of a 22-year-old student who was found dead on Friday.
In a statement from University President Dr. Elizabeth Preston, Edmond “Eddie” Fallon, of Wilbraham, was found in dead in his apartment.
"Whatever I say about Eddie as far as his athletic exploits, it pales in comparison with the type of person he was,” Westfield State University Athletic Director Dick Lenfest said. “He was a good friend around campus, he was a leader on campus and he was a great teammate."
University officials do not believe there was any foul play involved.
Fallon, a senior, was a double major in English & Political Science. He was also the starting left tackle for the Westfield State Owls football team.
Fallon attended high school at Minnechaug Regional in Wilbraham.
Westfield State University President Dr. Elizabeth Preston:
“As we struggle to come to terms with the tragic loss of a friend, I remind our Westfield State campus community members, and students in particular, that our Counseling Services team, faculty, and staff are available to support you as are the chaplains in our Interfaith Center. Information on funeral arrangements and services will be shared as it becomes available.
Please keep Eddie's family, friends and teammates in your thoughts at this difficult time.”
