SOUTHWICK, MA (WSHM) -

Fire departments from Massachusetts and Connecticut worked to extinguish a fire in Southwick on Saturday morning.

Southwick Fire Chief Rick Anderson told CBS 3 shortly after 8 a.m., Southwick firefighters were called to a garage fire on North Loomis Street.

Anderson said the fire was extinguished within 20 minutes.

Upon investigation, it is believed that a timer for an outside light was the cause of the fire.

The garage is currently condemned but Anderson does not believe the structure is a total loss.

Departments from Granville and both Suffield and Granby, Connecticut provided mutual aid.
