WESTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

Massachusetts state police are continuing to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Monday afternoon.

The victim of the accident has been identified as 26-year-old Gregory R. Asher, of Chester, according to Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney's office,

Police responded to the intersection of Main Road and Rhodes Road at about 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash.

Carey said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Asher was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. The state police collision analysis reconstruction section (CARS) and crime scene services were on scene investigating after the accident occurred.

Westhampton police also responded to the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
