Bedroom catches fire in Springfield home

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - Springfield firefighters were called to a home on Scott Street shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday night.

Dennis Leger, aide to Springfield Fire Commission Joseph Conant told CBS 3 that a second floor bedroom had caught fire.

Two adults and one child have been displaced as a result of the blaze.

Pioneer Valley Red Cross is assisting those residents.

Leger said 1st and 3rd floor residents were evacuated but will most likely be allowed back in.

The fire caused $20,000 in damages. A cause of the fire has not been determined at this time as officials continue to investigate.
