Car crash knocks out power in Easthampton

Posted: Updated:

Easthampton police are currently on the scene of a car crash near 60 East Street.

The accident occurred just before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say it appears a minivan hit a pole causing a power outage in the area.

According to Eversource Energy, there are roughly 85 residents without power at this time.

Crews are on scene working to restore power to those homes.

One person was inside the vehicle at the time but police are not commenting on their medical status as the investigation is ongoing.

East street from Fort Hill Road to North Road will remain closed until EverSource can restore power to the area.

CBS 3 has a crew on scene and will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
