SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

State police arrested two men after troopers pulled over the stolen vehicle they were traveling in and located a handgun inside the car.

Police in Springfield were advised to be on the lookout for a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan after it was stolen from a Boston Road gas station at around 10 a.m.

State police officials indicated that Trooper Sean Dennehy spotted the van traveling on Liberty Street near Carew Street at about 11:30 a.m. and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, 18-year-old Felix Burgos, of Worcester, was found to have two outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody.

After further investigation, Dennehy and additional troopers from the Springfield barracks found a handgun and ammunition in the vehicle.

The passenger, 22-year-old Ackeem Graham, of Springfield, was also taken into custody.

Graham and Burgos were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

They were scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court Friday.
