CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Police in Chicopee arrested a man they said broke into Cabot Liquors Sunday night, thanks to social media.

Officials announced the arrest of 35-year-old Jason Chapdelaine of Granby, MA on their Facebook page Monday morning.

Authorities said they were called to the store on Exchange St. around 8:15 p.m.

Investigators said a manager was inside the store at the time but did not hear the man enter the store. When he walked out from a back office, he confronted the suspect who ran out of the store with some items.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

Surveillance cameras caught the man in the act and police posted video and pictures to their Facebook page. Police said a follower recognized the suspect living in a tent near the boat ramp on Medina St.

Officers found the suspect and the stolen items. He was charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny.
