SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -
It is the ultimate heartbreak -- finding out that a loved one has been the victim of a homicide.
Dealing with the grief and emotions of a such a sudden loss can be devastating. This Thursday, there is hope in a very special event.
Gina Girouard-O'Neill joined Tom Lewis and Emily Volz on Western Mass News at 12:30 p.m. to discuss this week's event.
"Standing Together: Homicide Victims Remembrance" is being organized by the Baystate Family Advocacy Center's homicide bereavement program. It will bring together family and friends of those across the area who have been impacted by events such as targeted violence, vehicular homicide, domestic violence, or random violence.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Court Square in Springfield. The public is invited to attend, and anyone can ask to have a name added to the list of remembrances.
