Classes resume at two Palmer high schools following threats

PALMER, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

High school students in Palmer are returning to class Thursday after threats forced evacuations on Wednesday.

Students will be back in class today at both Pathfinder Regional and Palmer High School.

Police searched both buildings and found nothing, but they are still taking te incidents seriously.

Palmer High School was evacuated after someone found "School shooting, I'll kill" written on a note with yesterday's date.

The threat against Pathfinder Regional was for a fire.

Students with cars were allowed to leave. The rest had to wait for their worried parents.

Palmer's police chief says they will have increased police presence at all of the schools this week, but some parents are still concerned for the safety of their children, asking how exactly administration handles threats and evacuations.

Some of those concerns may be addressed at a meeting that will be held tonight, during which another threat made towards a middle school earlier this month will be discussed.
