Drug operation busted in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -  Massachusetts State Police said they busted a drug operation on Elizabeth St. in Springfield Thursday.

Investigators said they seized 1,200 bags of heroin, 35 grams of cocaine, about 35 grams of marijuana and nearly $6,000 while executing a search warrant.

Authorities said members of District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni's Narcotic Task Force, State police detectives and ATF Task Force officers arrested 22-year-old Geovanni Saldana, 29-year-old Harrison Obumzie and 19-year-old Isaiah Santiago.

All of the men were charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, cocaine and marijuana. Saldana was additionally charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine.

Police said they have taken more than 2,900 bags of heroin during a two-week investigation of this drug distribution operation.

All three men were scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court Friday morning.
