Families and friends gathered at Spec Pond in Wilbraham for the Second Annual Kevin Ambrose Memorial Baseball Tournament.
Eight U15 teams and six U13 teams from across the region met on Boston Road for the weekend-long competition. The tournament is held in honor of Springfield officer Kevin Ambrose, who was killed in the line of duty in June 2012.
"It's just a great tournament to honor a great fallen officer and all of the umpires here. They're all giving their time and a little bit of money. We're all happy to be here and be apart of it," said Joseph Williams.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Christina's House in Springfield, a non-profit that provides housing and support for homeless women and children.
The tournament runs through Monday.
