McDonald's and Sunoco in Chicopee robbed, suspects used a weapon

CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Police in Chicopee are investigating armed robberies at two businesses that took place early Sunday morning.

According to Officer Mike Wilk at 4:30 a.m. employees at the Sunoco on Montgomery Street called 911 to report that the gas station had just been robbed at knife point.

In a Facebook post to their page, the Chicopee Police Department said the employees told them "...a female, blonde/reddish type hair, wearing a grey hoodie and jeans, armed with a knife, walked in and fled with a undetermined amount of cash."

The woman was last seen leaving in a large SUV.

Then about an hour later, at 5:25 a.m. police received a call that the McDonald's on Memorial Drive in Chicopee that they had just been held up by a "black male" with a handgun.

The suspect in that armed robbery fled with an undisclosed amount of cash as well. He was last seen fleeing in a white vehicle.

Take a close look at these surveillance photos of him. If you recognize him or have any information that could help officers solve either of these cases please call detectives at 413-594-1730.

At this time police continue to search for each of the suspects and they aren't sure yet if the two are connected, however they continue to investigate.
