Water service has been restored to some residents in Agawam following a water main break.
Agawam Water Department Superintendent Chris Golba said that an old cement pipe along Raymond Circle failed early Thursday morning, causing water to come up to the street and into the neighborhood.
Golba added that the area is no stranger to pipe issues. He said that crews have responded to about four or five breaks over a four-year span.
Golba noted that the pipe that broke Thursday is among those currently being replaced as part of an ongoing infrastructure project.
A few homes in the area were without water service for a time, but that service was restored around 11 a.m. Thursday.
