BOSTON (AP) - The trial of a Boston man charged with killing one woman and assaulting two others is winding down.
The prosecution and defense in the trial of Edwin Alemany are expected to make closing statements Friday.
Alemany is charged with kidnapping and killing 24-year-old Amy Lord in July 2013.
Prosecutors say Lord - a Wilbraham native living in South Boston - was beaten, then forced to use drive her own SUV to several ATMs and withdraw money. She was then forced to drive to a reservation where she was killed.
Alemany is also charged with assaulting women before and after Lord's slaying.
Alemany's attorney is using an insanity defense.
Dr. Keith Ablow, a psychiatrist and television personality, testified Thursday that Alemany is seriously mentally ill.
A psychiatrist for the prosecution disputed Ablow's findings.
