State police Crime Scene Services Section investigates Agawam car accident
A Jeep Wrangler was involved in a head-on collision with a Lexus SUV on North Westfield Street in Agawam Monday evening.
One person from each vehicle was taken to an area hospital with injuries following the collision.
AGAWAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -
A portion of North Westfield Street (Route 187) in Agawam was closed Monday evening due to a car accident that sent two people to the hospital.
Agawam police responded to the scene of the accident in the area of Farmington Circle shortly before 6 p.m. The state police Crime Scene Services Section and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S.) were called in to assist Agawam police in the investigation, according to police officials.
A head-on collision between a Jeep Wrangler and a Lexus SUV left the roadway closed while police investigated the accident and crews cleared the wreckage.
The Jeep came to a final rest in the front yard of the home at 655 North Westfield St.
Airbags deployed in both vehicles. One person from each vehicle was taken to an area hospital.
Agawam police routed traffic around the accident via Farmington Circle.
North Westfield Street opened at about 9 p.m.
