Lower humidity to move into the region Friday

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Light scattered showers will move in pre-dawn Friday as a weak reinforcing cold front pushes through.

After some leftover sunrise showers, we'll have breaks of sun among clouds.

Saturday is comfortable as high pressure nudges in briefly.  This high moves out Saturday night, allowing muggy air to return with some showers leftover from what was Tropical Storm Bill.

Humid air returns for Father's Day, which is also the first day of astronomical summer.  The summer solstice at 12:38 p.m.

The building humidity will lead to showers with a few downpours.  Afternoon thunderstorms are possible as well.  It won't be a great outdoor day to finish out the weekend.

There may be a break in the showers at some point on Sunday. Too early to time it now, but check back for updates!

Theses showers continue on Monday as well, with high humidity holding over the region.
