Weekend starts dry and cool but ends humid and wet

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - It will slowly become less humid this afternoon and evening as a front pushes through western Mass. It will be a warm but pleasant afternoon with temperatures reaching into the low to mid 80s as high pressure settles into the area.  The cool, dry air will try to settle in overnight as temperatures fall into the 50s.

However, that same front will move back at us tomorrow so sunshine will give way to some afternoon cloudiness as it slowly becomes a bit more humid. We can't rule out an afternoon or evening shower as the warm front moves through.

The humidity certainly builds in tomorrow night and some heavy rain moves in for Father's Day, which is also the first day of astronomical summer. The summer solstice is at 12:38 p.m. The heavy rain will move in late Saturday night and last through Sunday morning as the remains of Bill move through. Things may dry out Sunday afternoon but it will remain very humid with the chance of a few more showers and perhaps a thunderstorm.
