2 passengers hospitalized following rollover accident on Route 5 in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Holyoke police closed down about one mile of Route 5 following a rollover accident in front of the Sisters of Providence Hospital Monday night.

Holyoke police Lt. Michael McCoy told Western Mass News that police responded to the accident in the area of 1233 Main Street at about 8 p.m.

A passenger from each vehicle was transported to Baystate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

The roadway was closed in both directions from Highland Avenue in West Springfield to the fork where Main Street splits from Route 5 near Jones Ferry Road in Holyoke. Police reopened the road at about 9 p.m.
