SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The cold front that brought the showers to the region this morning has pushed to our south and a weak area of high pressure is building in. This means skies this afternoon will become partly sunny though there is the slight chance of a shower. Highs today top out in the mid to upper 70s. Tonight expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Temperatures will fall off quickly after sunset with overnight lows dropping back into the lower 50s.
A complex and strong area of low pressure moves into the mid-west Saturday. Any early sun Saturday morning will give way to increasing clouds. There is the chance of a shower Saturday afternoon with highs in the lower 70s. Rain chances increase Saturday night with a steady rain moving in after midnight. Lows Saturday night fall back into the mid to upper 50s.
Rain continues into Sunday morning and some of the rain could be heavy at times. There is also the chance for a thunderstorm. The rain will taper to showers during the afternoon. A cooler afternoon on tap for Sunday with highs only topping out around 70.
