This afternoon will be nice and pleasant with warm but dry conditions. Temperatures will reach into the lower 80s. There will be some high thin clouds around this afternoon, mixed with a few cumulus clouds as well but the sun will still shine through and we are not expecting any rain. Some moisture will pass to our south bringing the Cape and Islands a few sprinkles and showers.
Any clouds we have overnight will give way to clearing skies. It will be a great night for sleeping. You'll be able to keep the air conditioners off as temperatures fall into the lower 50s.
The long holiday weekend will get off to a great start as high pressure continues to build in for tomorrow. We can expect more sunshine with warm, dry conditions. Some cloudiness will try to stream up in our direction on Saturday as it becomes a bit more humid but we are not expecting any rain and once again we'll have enough sunshine to keep things bright. It's back to full sunshine on Sunday with temperatures reaching into the middle 80s.
The next chance of any significant showers or storms will not arrive until the middle of next week as the heat and humidity build in for the beginning of next week.
The weather will cooperate for all your plans. BBQs, cookouts, parades and fireworks displays will all get off without a hitch. For a listing of local firework displays, check here.
By the way, the new Drought Monitor came out earlier today and all of western Mass is no long in a Moderate Drought. The wet June has paid off. We needed the rain and we've certainly received it.
