Hottest day of the summer on the way followed by storms

Posted: Updated:

It will remain warm and very humid overnight. Keep the A.C.s cranking as temperatures will stay near 70.

Get ready, tomorrow will be the hottest day of the summer, at least so far! We've yet to hit 90 in July but we should do it tomorrow. Readings will top off in the low to mid 90s.  The combination of heat and humidity will push heat indices (feel-like temperature)  close to 100. Stay hydrated, check on seniors and those with respiratory issues, and minimize strenuous outdoor activity. Stay cool!

Showers and storms will develop tomorrow evening and night. A few storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds, hail, cloud to ground lightning and torrential rains. The timing would be between 6pm to as late as 3 am.

The storms will be gone by Monday morning and we get a brief break from the humidity with much drier air moving in with sunshine and a storm-free day. It will still be close to 90 but the dew points will be down into the 50s so it will feel a lot more comfortable!

Tuesday, moderate humidity returns with the chance of a shower or storm before less humid air returns for the remainder of the week.
