FIRST WARNING

Great July stretch of weather settling in

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Our wonderful weather we had out there today plans on staying for the rest of the week!  As high pressure builds in, skies will generally stay clear of clouds into Friday morning. Just some fair weather clouds will mix with the sun again Thursday as they did today. The air will stay very comfortable for late July.

On Friday, a shot of atmospheric energy will dive down across northern and eastern New England and could trigger a few scattered afternoon showers here in western Massachusetts. Franklin County and eastern Hampshire County have the highest chance of seeing a brief downpour and even some pea-sized hail mixed in.

Over the weekend, Saturday is still the easy pick with plenty of sunshine and still relatively comfortable air expected.  Clouds increase Sunday as showers and a few possible thundershowers develop during the day. It gets muggy on Sunday as well.
