Storms move out, heat and humidity on tap for this week

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

One severe storm rolled into the southern Berkshires early Sunday evening and brought with it damaging wind and large hail. This storm weakened as it moved over Hampden County as a new one formed over Westhampton.

Lightning struck a home and more trees and branches came down in Hatfield and Northampton. This second storm fizzled near sunset east of the Quabbin Reservoir.

We are now in for a very hot week - likely the hottest of the summer - as temperatures soar to the mid 90s Wednesday and humidity reaches for tropical levels.

It will stay hot into the weekend with dropping humidity levels.

Stay hydrated and cool and check on seniors and those with respiratory illness and distress.

Also, remember your furry family members.

Stay cool, and be safe!
