The Valley Blue Sox held a pregame ceremony on Sunday to honor Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan. In addition to a moment of silence, the team wore camouflage jersey's to honor all the service members killed when a gunman opened fire at a military recruiting center in Chattanooga Tennessee last week. Those jerseys, along with an autographed baseball bat, were raffled off following the game.
"The owner of the Valley Blue Sox is very involved with the Veteran community" says Brian Miller, the State Chapter Director for Honor and Remember of Massachusetts. "All the proceeds that are raised tonight will go towards Honor and Remember. What we use that money for is to buy special embroidered flags to send to the families." says Miller.
