Hot temperatures expected over the next couple days

Posted: Updated:

The heat and humidity are on this afternoon! This will be the hottest stretch of the summer, at least so far.

We'll see plenty of hazy sunshine and very warm temperatures as high pressure slips off shore, allowing for the heat and humidity to build in.

Temperatures will reach near 90 this afternoon with dew points in the mid to upper 60s. We could see a spot shower or thunderstorm this afternoon however it looks as though the bulk of the activity will set up across eastern Massachusetts. Keep an eye to the sky if you're out sitting by the pool.

The heat and humidity will continue to build in for tomorrow and Thursday. In fact, tomorrow will be the hottest day of the summer thus far with highs into the middle 90s.

The warmest temps so far this year is 91. Readings will be back into the 90s on Thursday too, out ahead of a "cold" front.

This front will brings Thursday evening showers and storms.

We are not expecting a big cool-down behind the front, in fact temperatures will still reach close to 90 degrees on Friday but it will be quite a bit drier with dew points down into the 50s. Since it will be less humid we should be able to cool down quite a bit with overnight lows into the 50s.
